Franky had done her best ad avoiding her dads. Staying the night at Nick’s again was easy, he always let her anyway. Now she had to deal with college in the next coming days, lucky she could test out of subjects just in case, but missing a month of school was a hassle. A text came about from her phone and she hadn’t seen the number in quite sometime. It seemed that Jake knew when to appear the most; not asking questions or anything of the sort. She decided that a night out would be best to take her mind off things, maybe he had some advice about how to fix friendships that had been monumentally fucked up. She slipped a dress on and went in search of a pub, a new one across town would do. With her coins and bills in pocket she walked up to a newer settled pub and took down the address. “Seems perfect..” She sent Jake a message with the place to meet and walked inside heading to the middle table area. Franky ordered a pint and traced her finger around the glass waiting, until Jake showed rather earlier than expected with a grin. She waved and he walked over, doing the usual greet, meet, hellos. Franky decided to leave the bad mood behind, it was supposed to be an exploration night with drinks and fun; avoid mother talk. “So what have you been up to in Bristol.. besides probably meeting the world. Anything interesting to tell? Oh.. and I suggest the lighter beer.. other kind here… bit bland.”
“Well Franky knows best don’t she?” He grinned ordering something strong, but not to strong, he was fine with whatever showed up at the table. He took a sip and scrunched his face at the taste. “I guess one of the down sides to a new place is the beer isn’t as good as the places your used to, yeah?” He looked around the pub, it was pretty full of people, nice fittys everywhere. “So Franky how’d you find this place?” He asked crossing his arms on the table. He sort of felt awkward, which he couldn’t understand, he rarely felt that way around people, he was that one fun loving confident guy that got along with everyone, and if anything, being around Franky shouldn’t have been as awkward as most of the other people he met, those were one time things, and this wasn’t the first time he had been around Franky. Jake slowly sipped the bitter tasting beverage, while he waited for Franky to answer, he was curious to what was going on with her, but he wasn’t going to pressure her into talking about it, she would talk about it if she was ready or actually felt like it, he was just going to flow with it. Hopefully this time hanging out with her, he wouldn’t make a foul of himself like he did with the basketball smacking him in the face, that wasn’t the smoothest thing to do in front of a pretty girl he just met.
Jake seemed perfectly content with his beer coming and asked how she found the place. She shrugged and twirled the glass around, “Just wandered past the usual places. I usually settle for one closer to home, but they have weird shots here.” She pointed to the back behind the counter where specialties were. No matter to them really. Jake seemed a bit tense or maybe Franky was just another drink down more than him. “Loosen up,” she tapped his foot with hers and clinked glasses with his. “Okay we see how many drinks we can down before we explore? I know a few places to go, the woods.. Say fuck it and take the train somewhere. Get this place hopping, I’m tired of sitting around.” She sipped at her pint and set the glass down playing with it on the table. Franky wanted to ask him more about his life; he was still a bit of a mystery to her and she was a bit surprised they were hanging out again. Normally she wouldn’t be so trusting with people. New people especially. But she decided to hold off until they were a bit more buzzed so she could relax.
Jake shook his head and grinned, as they clinked glasses. This girl was important, he could feel it, it was weird. He felt like she would be someone important in his life in Bristol, which made somewhat sense, she was the first girl that he had met, so obviously she was going to be important in that way. Maybe she was going to end up being his best mate or something along those lines, but that didn’t matter much anyways. They were going to drink, and explore, even if they didn’t know each other to much, he still enjoyed being in her company. She was laid back, and he liked that about her, even if she was somewhat of a mystery, he still found himself trying to figure her out. She was interesting to start, not to mention beautiful. Thankfully he had his not so thing with Callie to keep his mind off of those things that had to do with her, because she was obviously taken by some bloke he hadn’t met yet, not like it ever stopped him before. He took a chug from his pint, and smiled at Franky. “So, anywhere you were thinking of fucking off to? I’m up for anything really. Don’t have any reason not to take a train so some place I haven’t seen yet.” He took another sip of his pint, he wasn’t very thirsty for the bitter tasting beer, he mostly just wanted to drink it so he could forgot the world, and not have a care in the world for a while. “Any reason you want to explore? Or just for the fun of it?” He asked curiously, not really expecting an actual involved answer.
They finished their pints after a regular time, small talk and all ending in him asking where they were going next. She wasn’t sure entirely; there were more pubs, clubs, and far away places she always knew. For some reason she wanted to do something different. “I’m up for anything really. Don’t have any reason not to take a train so some place I haven’t seen yet.” She liked that about certain people. The ones that were ready for the world and wanted to take it wildly. This night could be fun, but she had boundaries, there were always boundaries. She watched him carefully sip his pint and leaned forward to stand up, heading to the bar for a quick second. She bought two fifths of vodka and sat back down with a grin, “Any reason you want to explore? Or just for the fun of it?” Franky pursed her lips looking around for a clear answer but it was just for enjoyment. “I enjoy the thrill, now let’s go I got an idea.” They walked out and Franky handed him a fifth of vodka, uncapping hers and staring at the label. “Water parks are closed still since it’s not warm enough, but I say it’s a scorching day and we break into one.” She laughed quietly and slipped her fifth in her back pocket leading the way to the best known one by Bristol. “There..” She pointed with her bottle and took a sip cringing at the taste. “We climb that tree, hop that fence, and we’re in. They keep the water running at this time to set it up. Next week they open. So.. what do you say to a whole water park to ourselves?” Before he could say anything else, she was heading to the tree climbing up with the biggest grin on her face. If there was anything she was good at, was observing and finding the top spots to have fun and hangout. Gardens, wooded areas, underneath bridges, and even areas in the college itself. She had a knack for it, maybe since she didn’t like being confined to the same old routine. Franky just hoped Jake was up for that much fun.
“Sounds like a good time.” He chuckled at the idea of breaking into a waterpark, it was a new thing he could add to his list of law breaking, it was a pretty long list from London, mostly B&E’s, but he rarely got caught, and even getting caught wouldn’t stop him. He was up to do it even if it meant spending time in jail. This time, if he got caught, he wouldn’t mind it as much, because he would have someone sitting right next to him, or at least he hoped that would be the case. If shit went south, he hoped that Franky wouldn’t leave him behind, he knew he wouldn’t leave her behind. Jake sipped on his vodka, while Franky climbed the tree. “Don’t hurt yourself Princess.” He called joking with her. She must have forgot that she was wearing a dress, and Jake could honestly say he had never worn one, but it probably wasn’t the smartest thing to wear when your climbing trees. She hoped over and he fallowed her over, hitting the ground with a thud and falling on his ass. “I blame you for this,” He chuckled. He always seemed to hurt himself around her, the first time it was the basketball, and this time it was him falling on his ass. He stood up taking another sip of the bitter alcohol, but at least it was better than the shit excuse for a pint they offered at the pub. He looked around, trying to figure out where they would go to first, but had no idea where to start, he could hear the water running, and he saw some off in the distance. He rubbed the back of his head with his free hand, and smiled at Franky. “Where do you want to start?” He asked, ladies first, always ladies first. He may have been a twat to most girls, but it was always ladies first, he still had a gentlemanly side to him, even if he didn’t show it to many people.
“Don’t hurt yourself Princess.” She looked down and laughed calling out “Easy!” As she hopped over the fence, landing on her feet. Jake jumped and managed to break his fall with his bum, “I blame you for this,” she held her hand out and helped him up. “Oh a bruise won’t kill you.” Franky walked off sipping on her vodka and trying not to make a disgruntled face every time she tasted the damn stuff, but it happened and she just laughed it off. “Where do you want to start?” She stopped dead in her tracks and kicked her ankle high boots off, tossing them back by the fence. Her eyes scanned the area and there was everything they could ever want here on a hot day. Wave pools, slides, sprinklers, diving boards. “Sprinklers first,” she shrugged unzipping the side of her dress and hesitating realizing she wasn’t with her boyfriend. Or someone she was absolutely comfortable with just yet. She stood up and stared at him with big eyes and tucked her lips, “Uhm.. could you turn around for a second?” She waited for him to turn and she pulled her dress over her head. Bra and Knickers, she felt a bit uncomfortable and a bit idiotic for not realizing she would be half nude in front of a stranger. Franky bolted past him laughing, doing her best to keep calm about it. “Race you! I got head start so good luck!” She looked back and saw him scrounging to take his trousers and clothes off. Franky beat him to the sprinklers and hid more behind the giant fountain in the middle of the smaller pool. Jake caught up eventually and she was already rinsing her hair and body a bit to get the feel for the beyond freezing water. Shit. He’s here. She sighed and walked over, hiding behind the pole and looking at him cautiously. “This.. is weird isn’t it..?” Her face said uncomfortable, but her actions said otherwise. She was so used to hanging with her usual crowd she forgot how to make friends with newer individuals.
“Its not weird to me. I’m sure if could be worse. I mean, its not like were skinny dipping, then it would be weird.” He said scratching the back of his head, and stepping into the sprinklers. The freezing water nipping at his skin, he was glad that he had opt out of white underwear, that never mixed well with water, warm or cold. He didn’t really mind that she was half naked in front of him, it didn’t effect him anymore. He had an older sister, so it was nothing new to him, and he had been with many girls before, but underwear wasn’t a big deal regardless, it was pretty much just a girl in a bathing suit, it showed just as much skin no matter way you looked at it. His mind shifted over to Callie, and he smiled to himself. He imagined what it would be like if it was her he was with, and not Franky. They were both easy on the eyes, both gingers, both beautiful, and both cool people. He wondered if Franky thought he was a stranger when they were hanging out for the second time, and assumed she did, which was understandable, but she shouldn’t feel uncomfortable, because he wasn’t really interested in her that way, he had his mind set on someone else at this point in time, and she probably already had someone, and he wasn’t one to make a move on new people, with a few exceptions of when he was out looking for a shag, and this wasn’t the case, he hadn’t found anyone in Bristol that he only wanted as a shag, but then again he didn’t really know anyone, he hoped that Franky would actually turn into a really nice mate of his, because he needed just mates from most people, or everyone he met. He had just moved in not to long ago, and he didn’t really want to get a girlfriend right away anyways. He ran his hands through his wet hair, letting his skin get used to the feeling of the cool water, making it feel warmer than it actually was.
“Its not weird to me. I’m sure if could be worse. I mean, its not like were skinny dipping, then it would be weird.” She nodded, feeling a bit foolish; but she was always a bit self conscious with people looking at her anyway. Not like people ever did, she didn’t mind it and wanted it to stay that way. Jake didn’t seem phased by it and she was calmer; a bit confused but calmer. He was his own pandoras box that she didn’t understand, but he seemed nice enough to explore with so why not do it. “Okay, then let’s go.” She smiled again letting Jake walk next to her as they glanced around at all the rides. “Race on those two water slides?” They agreed and ran up the steps to the top, both slides next to each other leading into a large pool at the bottom. They sat looking at each other doing a small count down before shooting down the slides; seconds later both left the end and splashed into the pool. Jake beating Franky by a few seconds because of the weight difference. She moved her hair from her face and swam closer toward the end where she could stand laughing, “Not fair.. okay fair, but I failed horribly.” She got out and sat on the edge letting her feet drift in the water. “So have you met anyone special here in Bristol? The town of lost hopes and dreams.” She giggled and squeezed out what she could of her bangs and ruffled her hair so it could dry; it always did rather quickly anyway. “I can tell you found someone, everyone always does. Like these randoms keep popping up and we just haven’t noticed before.”
He climbed out of the pool at the end of the slide, and shook the water out of his hair, the joys of short hair, is that it liked to dry faster than when it was longer. He sat next to her, letting the cold water freeze his feet, and he watched the ripples from the moment. He looked over at her, leaning out towards the water slightly. “That obvious? I dunno. I met a few people, and they all stand out for different reasons. Are there any people in this town who don’t have orange hair?” He asked making ruffling movements around his hair, he looked like a moron for talking with his hands, so he let hims curl around the edge of the pool. “I haven’t really met anyone special, special. If that makes any sense.” He sighed looking back to her. “And what about you missy? Got a boyfriend tying you down too? Or is that something you didn’t want to talk about?” He asked curiously, he wasn’t trying to come onto her, but he just didn’t really want to talk about the girl he fancied to much. He hadn’t told anyone about her, he didn’t really want everyone to know his business. He would tell people when he actually figured out what they were, if they were anything more than just mates, which seemed highly unlikely. He stared straight ahead, watching the sky like he so enjoyed to do. The world above was interesting, and he wanted to know more than anything what it actually was up there, if anything was up above them.
“That obvious? I dunno. I met a few people, and they all stand out for different reasons. Are there any people in this town who don’t have orange hair?” She laughed and pulled a piece of her bangs out then ruffled the side of her head. “I always thought mine was auburn..” She shrugged and kicked the water around watching the circling water twirl around. He seemed like her in a way, very private with his life and she let it be. Franky wasn’t going to push information out of a new mate. “I haven’t really met anyone special, special. If that makes any sense.” She nodded and looked down at her hands, fiddling around with her thumbs like usual. “I’m sure you’ll find someone.” She offered a hopeful smile and glanced back down. Maybe he wasn’t looking to date at the moment, but she didn’t want him to feel that there wasn’t anything for him here. “And what about you missy? Got a boyfriend tying you down too? Or is that something you didn’t want to talk about?” She turned red and tucked her lips out of habit. Her mind was still stuck on her past time with Nick, they just didn’t tell people about them and that was that. But now that they were dating it was weird to even bring him up in conversation when people didn’t know him. “Actually yeah, Nick? I don’t think he’d be too happy with me being here right now. But he’s a good guy.” It’s all she had to say and she wanted to keep it that way. It felt weird saying she had a boyfriend, almost like a reality check that scared her a bit. “Let’s find the snack stand, maybe they have conettos.” They stood up and walked, a bit colder than before on account of the water, “There it is.. shit..” she realized she didn’t have a bobbypin on her like usual, “Oh,” besides the one she had in her hair. Lucky it was still there. She extended the metal and picked the lock until it popped open, “After you,” she let Jake in first and found the freezer at the end of the room. “They have everything you want in here..” They picked out cones and left the storeroom with even happier faces than before. Before they could walk any further, Franky spotted a silhouette with a flashlight down the walkway and she pushed Jake back against the wall on the snack shack. “Shit, we gotta get out of here quick.. security’s here.” Franky pointed over her shoulder.
“Shit. They always come to ruin the party don’t they?” Jake glanced around the corner of the stand, and saw they were slowly making their way towards them, but slightly off course. Jake quickly looked around to try and find something to distract them, so him and Franky could get away without getting caught. He looked down and spotted a half heavy rock, and he picked it up, showing it to Franky with a stupid grin on his face. “I know its stupid, but its never failed me before.” He took a deep breath, “If all else fails, I’ll take the shit for it. My sister won’t be to mad at me, so its better off that way.” He took a step out into the open, and through the rock towards one of the pools, it landed with a small splash, and the guards turn towards it, and started walking in that direction, almost like they were robots. Jake turned towards Franky and nodded. They ran over towards where they came in, and grabbed their clothes off the ground. He gave Franky a leg up, trying his best to keep from looking up at her knickers, and she climbed out with ease. Jake wasn’t so lucky, the guards had heard her as she hit the top of the fence, and they were on his ass in a few moments. He was half way up when one of them grabbed his leg, and pulled. He struggled to pull his leg free, and pulled himself up, dragging the guard towards the fence with him. He pulled his leg with all his force towards the fence, and the guards grip loosed enough for him to pull his leg free and hop over the fence. He smiled at Franky as he landed on his feet this time, “Close call.” He said to her as they ran. The got a ways away before they stopped. He smiled up at her again, realizing how much fun it was to be so close to trouble and get away with it so simply. “We should do this again.” He commented just as they parted ways.

Nah man, sorry. I’ve got someone in mind anyways, and I’m not looking to make enemies in Bristol.
